Tarvaris Jackson was very nearly the worst starting quarterback in the game with a rating of 79. Other starters with a 79 rating include Josh McCown and Trent Edwards, and only Brodie Croyle bails them out with a 78.
Interesting because only Trent Edwards remains a starter of the bunch.
Now, if you play as the Vikings and Purple Jesus A.Peterson, you will be playing with Gus Frerotte as your quarterback. This means a couple things:
- you will not be able to do the roll outs with Jackson that result in lots of 5-15 yard scrambles and Peterson screens
- you will be able to rely on Frerotte's bigger, more accurate arm (more shotgun formations are probably wise)
Cheer up Gus - although you look so uncomfortable in this picture, you are the Vikings new starter. Congrats.

Most Overrated Madden Team? I Nominate the Browns
I want to like the Browns in Madden 09... and I played three of my first five games with them. My quick recap: their value is inflated and their team is *not* very good. I actually prefer to bench Derek Anderson and plug-in Brady Quinn - who is surprisingly quick and sharp (deep ball is so-so). Braylon catches everything thrown well - and Winslow adds a great safety net. Jamal Lewis doesn't play like a 90 rating - so be sure to run behind big Joe Thomas.
Offense:
Joe Thomas - 97
Kellen Winslow - 97
Braylon Edwards - 95
Eric Steinbach - 95
Kevin Shaffer - 93
Lawrence Vickers - 92
Jamal Lewis - 90
Hank Fraley - 89
Derek Anderson - 88
Rex Hadnot - 88
Donte Stallworth - 85
Ryan Tucker - 84
LeCharles Bentley - 82 (Interesting)
Joe Jurevicius - 82
Brady Quinn - 82
Steve Heiden - 79
Jason Wright - 77

Shaun Rodgers - 94
Corey Williams - 90
Kamerion Wimbley - 88
Robaire Smith - 87

Shaun Smith - 84-89 (depending on where played)
Andra Davis - 84
Brodney Pool - 84
Eric Wright - 84
Leon Williams - 83
Brandon McDonald - 82
Gary Baxter - 77
